I wonder if any of you can help with ideas to market a Dog Grooming business and a Lettings Agency. The Lettings Agency is proving difficult as I cannot seem to locate any landlords - any ideas? I cannot knock on doors as the existing tennants are there and often they are with another agency - any thoughts would be welcome
The dog grooming is going well but I wondered if you have any thoughts that could help.
Many thanks
Mike

Not sure what a Lettings Agency is so I can't help you there. But as far as the dog grooming....I volunteer for a pet rescue and once a month we have an adoption event at a groomer's store front this gets the dogs some exposure and the groomer may get some new business. If you don't have a store front (i.e. you're working out of your house or something like that) just call some of the local pet adoption agencies offer to groom any newly adopted pet for a discount and drop off some business cards they can give out to each new pet owner.

Maybe you could specialise in properties that allow tennants to have pets???? If you're thinking of doing it from the same premises........It would totally put me off! You clearly don't have any experience in the lettings market - My idea would be not to go down that route! If you must why not get in touch with smaller local developers, they sometimes keep a couple of units to let rather than sell. You need to research this thoroughly, there are legal aspects and professional bodies that you would need to belong to, start by investigating those.
just trying to make a difference

hi, my best advice is to get a copy of the cobweb business opportunity profile (BOP) for each business.

it tells you all you need to know about a business, what the laws are in that area, what you should charge for your product or service, who your customers will be and how to find them, and much more...

you can see the contents of each BOP on the links below, however your local businesslink office should provide you with a copy free of charge http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/directorylocal?r.s=sm
