Question:
I have a really good peer to peer marketplace app/website Idea. How do I go about starting this app/website and being a legitimate business?

Just adding onto the question: I have a name I like, I’ve already searched it to see if I could legitimately use it, and I can, I also have an unpolished logo done, I’m an amateur graphic designer so I just need someone with better skills to polish it off for me. I have 20,000 in savings I could use to startup, and could always get a loan. I’m just not sure what steps to take next. Is there someone I should talk to first? Should I go ahead and register the name? Who to talk to, and what to do, to actually start my idea up?

Start with a simple business plan and financial projections to understand whether the business is viable.

If you mean what used to be P2P, that was pretty much shut down by the feds some 5 or more years ago.

You start writing the code yourself. An idea isn't worth much, you need proof of concept in most cases. Most startups don't see any funding until they have users...which you wouldn't have until after the site would be built.

How intensive and expensive would it be to build the functionality which makes your website different than all of the other P2P marketplace ideas?

How do you expect to compete with eBay, Craigslist, etc?

Ultimately, you can literally buy an app, customize it and send it out there into the world. https://rubygarage.org/blog/how-to-build-peer-to-peer-marketplace
