Hi, I am looking for ways to work from home. I have chronic back pain which makes it hard for me to go to work and I am having surgery to correct this problem in July so I will be confined to my home for 3-6 months of recovery time. Wondering if anyone knows of a way to work from home that is not a scam. Not looking to make a ton of money, just part time to complement my husbands military income while he is deployed. Thanks!

Remember that most of the opportunities that are legit online are actually for home based business opportunities. The

programs that you see which claim you can join this and that free and sit home and watch the money roll in behind the

computer screen are full of...wel-l, you know.

Please try to understand = half the world speaks English and much of it has better Internet connections than UK .. whilst at the same time they have MUCH LOWER standards of living, NO minimum wage laws and NO working time restrictions.

Almost ANYTHING that 'you' can do from home (on a PC) at a minimum wage of £5 an hour can be done for 50p a day by some-one based abroad.

Even many 'skilled' jobs (such as IT Help Desks and Financial Services Call Centers) have moved to India.....

The 'work at home' jobs remaining in UK are SPECIALIST jobs (Consultants etc) who are already running self-employed businesses or existing Employees of major corporations who support 'home working'.

There are some 'niche' jobs (eg for the disabled etc), however unless you already have a job (with a major corporation) or contacts/clients (self-employed) you will find it almost impossible.

The BEST ting I can suggest is ask the 'Temp Agencies' ... they should know if any Employers ever have 'work at home' vacancies in your area .. (and because it's Temp work there is no time to set up an Indian etc. office)

Sorry to hear about your situation. I work part time from home and make a decent amount of money. I have found that I have to do a bunch of different kinds of work. If you are interested here is a very informative site to check out: www.legitonlinehomejobs.com

Just be careful and don't give your credit card to anyone unless you are sure of who you are dealing with. Having said this, there are some people on here who seem to spend their entire day posting the same warning stuff about working online scams.. yes there are scams out there as there are everywhere but not everyone get scammed, only the ones who do not think.

Unless you have very specific skills, such as graphic design, web design, computer programming or sell on eBay, there are no real internet work at home jobs. On line jobs are just another urban myth. You will just be bombarded with all kinds of work at home scams.

You will not find a legitimate job on a work at home website, just one scam after another.

You need to find a job you are qualified for and work out telecommuting during the interview.

Working online isn't easy as it seems but can be done. What people don't realize is that to get any office job (online or otherwise) you need skills.
