Hey everyone, my name's Melissa, I'm 18 years old.
In my final two years of high school I built a custom electric guitar and amplifier, it was during that time that I knew building guitars was what I wanted to do with my life. I graduated last year, and I am beginning to take the first steps towards my guitar building career. Basically, I've just found a job (just working at a retail store) so that I can use the money to buy all the necessary tools to set up a workshop in my garage, buy some materials, and just practice building different guitars in whatever spare time that I have. When I have perfected my guitars and start selling them and earning a bit of money I will cut off the hours of the job I have now and eventually build the guitars full-time. That is my plan.
Do you think that would be a good way to get into the business? Is there any specific/crucial tools or materials I should buy?
Any particular construction tips? Even just general tips on starting a business.
Just anything that would help would be great! :D.
Thank you.

i can't tell you anything really about making guitars, but... i've been playing for pretty close to 22 years - since i was 6.. I know it takes a lot to build a GOOD guitar.. resonance is something you need to consider, and the ability to keep the neck from warping all to **** after a few years.

I'd suggest maybe restoring a few old ones too...

painting is difficult and will take a lot of practice. You need a real paint gun and decent sized air compressor. the type of paint makes a difference too.. enamel paint isn't as good as urethane based paints...

as far as starting a business, it's going to be hard to get to the point to where you can sell your guitars for good profit.. Marketing is going to be key. You will probably have to donate a few guitars to some prominent people in order to get noticed. Have someone famous wear one of your guitars during a photoshoot ...

As far as business, really, there are a lot of things you need to know, but, nothing that's so hard you can't figure it out..

i applaud you for your what you're doing..

If you only start to perform the guitar then you need the best courses on the market to discover ways to enjoy this hard tool and the best is Jamorama website, here https://tr.im/6uQr9 .

In the event that you are likely to learn the guitar for the very first time (Or maybe you attempted before and only couldn't obtain the "hold" of it), then Jamorama is the proper course for you personally because every lesson has a video to accompany the axioms, and once you have removed by way of a week of lessons, you can get and printing a fitness sheet related to those lessons.

The video instructions explain to you how to enjoy chords – the fundamentals of playing guitar. You'll learn to enjoy major, minor, 7th, and bare chords. If you do not know what any one of meaning, do not allow it discourage you. It's all described in more detail in the videos.

A very important thing about that is after you obtain these essentials down, the names and the technicality just float to the backdrop and that you don't genuinely have to consider it a great deal more – you can only perform!
