united states postal services?

i ordered merchandise off amazon.com and the ship carrier is usps (unites states postal services) i ordered the merchandise july 31st and it shipped from the retailer the very same day which means the package is in usps's hands. but now it is august 8th and the package has been in he transit for 8 days. im not completely concerned because the delivery estimate date is august 9th (tomorrow) but im afraid that come tomorrow the package wont come

You should get it tomorrow. It should not have taken that long though. The delivery date should update if for any reason you don't get it tomorrow. I'm thinking what happened was that maybe the seller printed the label on 7/31 which stated that your package shipped, when it really didn't. That happens quite often to me.

How was it shipped? What USPS service did amazon or the postal service use? Was it shipped from a third party that uses Amazon to sell? This is a factor because they use many different USPS services to ship. Where was it shipped from and to? Standard mail can take a few weeks. First Class mail can take up to 5 days. Do you have a tracking number? Wait until tomorrow afternoon and if you don't get it,call USPS at 1-800-275-8777,give them your address,tracking number (if you have one) and address where it was shipped from. It may have been tampered with so you should also contact USPS Postal Inspectors at 1-888-877-7644,report it and open an inquiry if you don't receive it by August 10. If they don't seem to be able to help you or don't want to help you,write the address below,give them the case numbers (you should have/get two - you need to call both phone numbers) and the tracking number (if you have one). You should wait 5 days before writing them. You should consider sending them a certified letter if you write them but you don't have to.

That's just the estimated date of arrival. It may take even a couple more days, but most likely it will come.
