I have looked high and low on the internet and everything that I have found sounds like a scam or you have to invest hundreds of dollars to get started. I am just curious if anyone out there has found a legitimate way to stay at home and make money. I am just looking to make some extra income and any help is greatly appreciated....Thank you.

IF you continue to look in using the same process of searching, you WILL continue to get the same results. Money making opportunities are created, not handed out. Legitimate ways to make money at home are done in the same fashion as they are done away (just on a smaller scale). You can narrow it down to just about three categories. Providing a service, product and/or providing information of value. Building a small business has great rewords and creates great new opportunities. However, despite what many will say, it takes time to build a significant and long lasting income. For some it is fairly immediate. For others it takes several months with a great commitment and investment of time. I would suggest focusing on a niche that interests you. I enjoy building websites with my wife. We enjoy doing it around our interests.

If however you wish to create an income from home, then a home based business is ideal. The biggest advantages are working hours that you can set to suit yourself, the opportunity to leverage time through the efforts of others, and significant tax advantages.

There are hundreds of possible businesses, but a business requires some capital to start up so I would recommend looking for one that requires less than $500 to start, but remember it is your business and it will only be successful if you are prepared to put some amount of continuous effort into it. It will take some time to build and get an income flowing, so I would study all opportunities very closely and see if your choice has any bonus schemes which can act as cash flow as the main income stream grows.

With most businesses it will take 2-4 weeks before the first income may be received, but that is normal, in fact most home based jobs will only pay monthly. But with the right business the income should increase quickly as the weeks progress, in fact it is possible to be earning a significant extra income within 6 months and be financially free in 2-4 years.

Some 9 years ago I got involved with a company in the second largest industry in the world – Telecommunications. What impressed me with this company was the attitude of the owners, they were already in a position where they could have retired, but they decided that they had a company that could grow and help very many people throughout the world to realise their financial dreams.

This company now operates in 19 countries on 3 continents and expects to be opening up another 50 countries over the next few years. They have been featured in many publications like USA Today, Success from Home Magazine (twice), Fortune, and Inc 500 rated then the 22nd fastest growing company in the USA after their first 5 years, not only that but the 2nd most profitable.

Recently the multi-billionaire Donald Trump endorsed the opportunity, calling it probably the best available in the world today.

The services the company offers are local and long distance calling, subscription/line rental, Internet, Digital, Voip with video phones, Satellite TV and cell phone services with all the major cell phone providers. Now everybody knows plenty of other people who use these services in their homes every day, and this opportunity allows you to save people money on these services, but at the same time it allows you to earn a percentage of the monthly billing of all the people who are saving money on the services you recommended, you have created a residual based income, you get paid every month for as long as the customer continues to use the service. This can be a very profitable business as the industry turns over approximately one Trillion dollars annually.

In answering your question....yes. I found something that I could get off the ground at a very low start up cost, no inventory involved and I can do everything....and I mean everything....from home without direct sales, demo parties or cold calls.

I know there are a lot of scams out there but this company showed me how everything works in great detail and I was so impressed that I started my own home mini-office outlet through them, got incredible free and simple training and I still get free amazing support.

I now work the hours I want to in the comfort of my home, earning a residual income and am tied in with a health and wellness company that's been around for over 50 years....I'd say that's pretty stable, especially with the market trend being the baby boomers who want better health and looks.

Try some online jobs, where you don’t have to pay upfront money. Online data entry is an excellent career to consider if you want to work at home. The equipment needed for this type of job is very minimal. You only need a computer with an Internet connection, a table and a comfortable chair. Data entry duties include the inputting of correspondence, reports, and spreadsheets into a home computer and then transmitting that data using the Internet. Work at home data entry personnel may also proofread text, edit information, and maintain databases. Data entry jobs usually offer flexible scheduling, allowing people to work when they want to and as little or as much as they want to. Some of the growing fields for work at home data entry include medical and legal transcription, medical coding and litigation coding.

The best way to find a legitimate data entry job is visit a reputable career website. You are more likely to find a genuine work at home job using these websites.

There are several freelance websites that post freelance data entry jobs. Avoid responding to ads that do not list a company name or contact information. There are many reputable freelance work forums that can provide you with work at home data entry job listings. The forums are usually free to join and provide trustworthy information. Once you have found an advertisement for a work at home data entry job, check out the company by visiting their websites. You can also do an online search using the company name and visit the Better Business Bureau website to see if they have been listed as a fraudulent company.

Craigslist

Post an ad for whatever you like to do and charge people money for it. If you like kids, start a small daytime baby sitting job. Good at finding information for people: you're a research analyst. If you're a good writer: write for businesses.

I know people who have made good money working at home by starting out advertising services on Craigslist. And it's free.
