Question:
Good web hosts for e commerce?
2008-04-06 12:59:01 UTC
Im starting an e-commerce site I was thinking of using streamline.net as it has a pay by year thing and a good all round deal with a shopping chart script ready to use for me
Im selling ebooks and software so has anyone used streamline before or has anyone got a good host that they use for a similar purpose that has served them well?

Thanks

Hi Micky,

I can fully recommend Hostgator Web Hosting. I have a number of sites with them that I sell ebooks on so I know they're great for that.

I have used Hostgator as my web host for over two years now and have been very very impressed with them. Firstly they're very cheap but still give me more web hosting space and bandwidth than I'll ever need, the ability to host unlimited websites, a 99.9% uptime guarantee and great customer support.

For less than $8 a month you get:

600 Gigs of Web Hosting Space

6,000 Gigabytes of Bandwidth

Host UNLIMITED Websites

99.9% Uptime Guarantee

45 Day Money Back Guarantee

CGI, PHP 4 & 5, RoR, Perl

MySQL, SSH, SSL, IMAP, POP

cPanel Hosting

24/7/365 Upgraded Support

You can find them at http://www.webhostgator.info

Hello and maybe some help in deciding what to do and which way to go. I have just gone through the entire process and shopped for cost estimates. Do the same and also get a Merchant Account bid from your own bank. Go to my site (still under construction) and getting ready to add the Merchant Account next week. Click on the information tab and go to the bottom of the page. Click on the banner and get a free quote for your Merchant Account. Get a couple of bids from different places. They had the best quote for me but shop and compare for yourself. Hope this helps you somewhat. Best to you and your new business.
