I am about to buy something in eBay but I am a little hesitant because I do not know whether it's possible I could get scammed. Please anybody that's ever bought from eBay should please tell me whether to trust it or not.

In addition to Mate M s answer-
Double check the shipping charges and all other info,
If this s a fragile item you may want insurance (not every seller knows how to properly pack a container- one step further ask the seller how they will package your order to insure it isn't damaged by normal shipping activities.
find out when the seller will ship your item- usually everyone is speedy but around Christmas there can be big delays.
check the sellers reputation and how much volume they sell- the higher percentage and more volume , the better!
Make sure you pick a good cryptic password when you log on- I had a flimsy one when I first started and someone in Croatia hijacked my user name and account and scammed people. (use lots of upper and lower case mixed with numbers-nothing that makes sense, then keep this info in a safe place) Relax, follow the cautions and follow through, I love Ebay!

Ebay is one of the most trusted sources for auctions. If you get scammed, you can simply report it to Ebay and they will reimburse you the funds.
As long as you read reviews on the buyer, and read the product description carefully, you are good to go.

Use PayPal and have them take the $$ out of your credit card. That way if it's a scam you can contact PayPal and tell them it was a scam, then contact your credit card company and get your money back. Usually PayPal will give you your money back, but just incase they don't you always have your cc who will.
