Question:
Should I put my current work number as a contact number when applying for a new job?

When writing cover letters or resumes, should I put my current work number down, as well as my home number? Or should I JUST put my home number down? I'm thinking, if I include the work number that may ease the potential employers' ability to contact me, and I do have a break time which I can use to take care of personal business--i.e. phone calls. However, I fear putting my current employer's number down might look disloyal to potential employers, and they may wonder about how appropriate it is for me to take calls about a different job while at work. What seems to be the consensus out there, if any?

No, never, no.

You are showing your potential employer that you are NOT LOYAL to your current employer by using their phone, their time for your personal gain. They will NEVER hire you if you do that...because it shows them you would not be trusted at all with their own policies and procedures.

NO. Only use your home phone, cell phone and home address and personal email for contacts.

Unless you want your boss or others to find out, ONLY put down your home number with specific hours to call. Or list your cell #.

You don't want your current employer to know that you are looking elsewhere or you could find yourself out of a job.

Under no circumstances.

You would be stealing of your current employers time and resources.

I would not do it. I would put a cell phone number instead.
