The first thing to think about is what do you enjoy? What are you passionate about? If you don't love the company you're involved with, you won't be successful.

I joined Scentsy last year and I love it! Besides passion, what was most important to me was making sure that it was a product that people would continue to come back for. If you're constantly doing all the legwork and convincing people to buy your product, it's going to get tiring real fast. With Scentsy, once I've introduced the product to people, they love it. Then...they come back for more. That's the ticket!

Good luck finding your passion and a company that gives you all you're looking for!

definately being an affiliate is one of the best ways being build an income. Avon or Mary Kay? well the choice should come down to which company that you are most familiar with and which company has products you will personally use the most. If you are seriouse about being an affiliate then the choice shouldnt come down to how much comission you get but how well you can suppor the products you are trying to sell.

you can also consider being an affiliate for Cutco or Pampered Chef. you can also build your own money making website and promote products and services there. You can also try selling products online with an online store or auction.

check out by blog.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17435022303294324993. im in the business of promoting products and services i really like. the offers that i have available are great ways to help you promote your home business but also adds another potenial stream of income from just being active user of these online socializing communities. Sign up is free but the opportunities to limitless. What ever home business you decide to do, you still need to build some kind of network of potental business partners and customers.

To answer this questions honestly would only get me a violation from a scammer or a fake. So I will say this you MUST select a business that you wake up to every morning and can't wait to get started with a passion. I started my own business at the age of 17 and became very wealthy by the age of 25. Whether anyone believes me or not is irrelevant. I retired at the age of 50 due to a motorcross accident one of my sons was in that left him with permanent brain damage. I now offer free advice to people looking to start their own business from home. I have over 35 years experience. I am not selling anything. This is just my way of paying back for my sons life, by all accounts he should not be with us today. Read my profile if you wish.

If you want to scare your friends and family off, the businesses you mentioned will be the way to do it, they have been around for many, many years and have reached a point of saturation. You will be lucky to break even let alone make any gas money, this is a fact.

There are some home based businesses that do not require you to sell anything.

In an economic recession, three main industries have historically proven to go unhurt. They are 1. Entertainment 2. Alcohol/Tobacco and 3. Cosmetics

I would strongly recommend that you look in to Mary Kay. While a woman can't afford to treat herself to a day at the spa, or buy a new outfit, she CAN afford to pamper herself by buying a new lipstick or eye color.

I can attest to the fact that Mary Kay is still selling hard, because I'm a consultant with the company. Feel free to contact me through my avatar for more information. Good luck with whatever you choose to sell! :)

I would have to say hands down the best business during a recession is HEALTHCARE!! Everyone needs affordable healthcare and I am with a Health Benefits Company that offers affordable Dental and Medical plans to over 2 million members nationwide. We are experiencing a very rapid growth and need serious reps! I make about $2k a month part time and have been with the company a little over a year. My business is increasing every month while others are failing;(

We don't do parties (some love that, not for me;) and we are trained to be Benefits Specialists from home. They provide us with Benefits, 401k, life insurance and training.

Find something you love and go for it!!

I work at home with a social marketing company, and this is an option for anyone who wants to sell stuff from home. I've listed some advantages of this type of home-based business from which you can see that this business is a VERY good option in these hard times:

- My job is not subject to market whims; the all-natural products I represent (vitamins & supplements, skin care & cosmetics, non-toxic household cleaners, etc) are in demand even in tough economic times. In fact, in every recession since the company began (over 50 years ago), sales have increased!

- These are consumable products, which means people reorder month after month, providing business security.

- My business is positioned to take advantage of the intersection of five of the fastest-growing consumer markets over the next 10 years - despite the economy! (health & wellness, anti-aging, green living, nutrition & beauty, & home-based business!)

- I have control over my income level (I choose to work part-time and am able to make a decent supplementary income, but I always have the option of earning more money by working full-time if I ever want to).

- Product research and development, quality assurance, production, and shipping are all taken care of by the parent company's $500 million infrastructure, so I don't have to invest in that.

- I love the high-quality products I market, and they are supported by a $-back guarantee, so I feel really good about sharing them with others and there is no risk to them to do so (important in hard times).

For more info on this home-based business as a social marketer go to http://ww.landofand.com/anne. One final thought - be sure you can be passionate about whatever you're selling!

When debating whether to sell from home and from which company, get catalogs from the companies that you are considering and show them to some family, friends etc that would be potential customers and get feedback from them. Which would they most likely buy from & etc?

And from the company, know whether there is a monthly sales quota to meet, how much are catalogs and other supplies, do you have to purchase them? What is compensation and when will you get paid? Is there any inventory that you need to carry? How are their customer support? Do you have a website and is there a cost? Any restrictions on how you can market it? Which company excites you most?

Know that direct sales is not a quick money maker, treat it like a business that it is with your tracking of expenses and profits, show persistance and you can get some extra money coming in. Good luck!

Home-Based Business Phenomena Continues to Explode and is Among the Highest Paid Profession in the World

“The reality for today’s businesses is that 95% of them fail” says Entrepreneur Magazine. The main reason for those failures is lack of knowledge , training, and support. Businesses acquiring those three factors (the remaining 5%) grossed more than $1 million operating from a home based business.

For most who want to be entrepreneurs, starting up a home based business and giving it that kick to success, is like a mice walking through a maze. Without guidance and direction on where to place media, businesses remain hidden in the shadows thus becoming unsuccessful. As this is happening, Mary Gersten ( a well known successor in her field of business and marketing), and her team of experts from Global Cash Flow Network, created a program known as the 24 hour web cash program, which educates business owners on key strategies to placing media.

Once students of the 24 hour web cash program completed their training to mastering key techniques to media placements, they are then certified and the best part; they gain the knowledge and mindset that most business owners don’t have. “I am excited to earn an additional income from my business in the future. I like the amount of support I receive in this program, it is great. The training is also really good. (To those considering) you need to have a mindset to go out there and promote your business. Mary, thank you for setting this up and for the good support from your company,” Janice from West Jordan, UT says.

As many work at home products are released this program is under the nose of the top watchdogs in the country. “It is our mission to educate people on how to create financial independence and wealth. We supply a growing line of products, training, and services in the areas of business, entrepreneurship, real estate, and Internet Marketing - both nationally and internationally” says Global Cash Flow. The downfall of a business can be very frustrating, and at times causing the owner to give up and not ever starting a business again. With the help of Mary Gersten, - there is no room for failure.

If you are trying to sell stuff from home. You will see your stuff will go into price competion. But if you are not only offer stuff, but also offer service. The result, the more customers get the higher expect than stuff, the more you will get more returning customers.

I am selling stuff from my own-desinged web, and provide service through my customers tracking service system. Make sure my customers use it the right way and how is it going?

If you are interesting in, you can ask me. I can give you support.

Hi there. I am an Executive Director for Passion Parties, and have been for almost 4 years. Let me tell you that "being your own boss" is the way to go, especially in today's economy.

Each company offers different things. It is best for you to make a list of what is important to you and go from there. Do not rely on any comparison charts you may find. Most are out dated and not accurate. Talk to a rep from each company to get correct and up to date information.

If you are planning on building a team with your new business then "override" bonuses will be an important thing to look at. With Passion Parties you earn off your FIRST recruit. We pay up to 5% on our downlines, 3 levels deep. Some companies require you to have a large number on your team before earning anything from their sales. Here is a link to our benefits http://yourpassionconsultant.com/consultants/purelypassionate/benefits.html

We offer a cash training bonus on all recruits who place a qualifying order within their first 60 days, (our qualifying order is just $250 retail) our bonus is $30.00 for each recruit.

We also offer CASH not product bonuses on personal sales, this can increase your sales earnings by up to 10%.

We offer options for car bonus, a home award, passion points to earn free trips and prizes. Also Passion Parties gives a $1000 shopping spree each month to one lucky consultant and one lucky customer. We have other contests, such as top shop to earn $100 visa cards, contests at convention, last year 2 - $50,000 diamond rings were given away. Various other contests throughout the year, fast track awards and so many prizes to numerous to mention. As well as team recognition and prizes.

Excellent training by via teleconferences, frequent regional corporate trainings, a fabulous convention this year at the Hilton in Vegas and many, many other training programs.

Although we advocate women only parties, Passion Parties DOES allow coed parties,

Passion Parties offers a mild and wild catalog. Having both catalogs allows you to market your business in environments where a full catalog with toys might not be appropriate.

Our product names and packaging are very tasteful and classy. Alot of our products have our company brand name/logo on them which keeps the customer coming back to you and not just any adult shop.

The OPTION to carry inventory or not. This is up to you. some companies emphasis/require carrying stock, some discourage it and some companies hostess rewards are affected by that. Passion Parties gives you the option. Although some may advocate taking stock there does run a chance of investing in stock that doesnt sell, and they YOU will be stuck with it.

Passion Parties offers a hostess program that is flexible. We are able to buy items at a deep deep discount to offer our hostesses. We have a structured hostess program.

We have over 400 products at GREAT pricing. Currently we are running Valentines specials with many buy one get one free offers.

Passion Parties also files state sales taxes for you, this saves you lots of time on paperwork!

We also do drop shipping directly to customers, hostess or our consultants.

We have a great hostess invite system online similar to evite- this a a great too for both the hostess and the consultant.

Passion Parties processes credit cards for you - no need to get a merchant account. We have NO monthy fees.

Passion Parties has a lead rotation program where when a customer goes to Passion Parties.com that the customer is rerouted to an actual consultant and not the company website. So our corporate office doesn't compete against us. We also offer a free lead rotation program.

Free select level websites or choose our premium site which is customizable. You can choose many different themes, add pictures and pages and more! Currently we have a valentines theme. You can view it at http://yourpassionconsultant.com/consult...

Passion Parties has a good standing with the Better Business Bureau. and is a debt free company celebrating our 15th year in business.

We offer 3 different kit prices with option to buy kits with or without toys, starting at $100 to $450. Our $250 kit is valued at $800. The $250 kit and the $450 both start you at 40% buying power.

Our company is always in the news. Just last week we were on the day time tv shows "the doctors", we have been on dateline, in Oprah's O magazine, the today show , montel and others. We also have a best selling book out called Passion Parties Guide to Great Sex. Here is a link to that http://yourpassionconsultant.com/consult...

Our company also participates in many charitable events. Passion Parties and Passion Consultants support organizations that benefit women, children and families afflicted by autism, breast cancer and multiple sclerosis through our Passion Parties Charitable Foundation.

We are also part of CAPHA- which is an elite group of companies in the adult in home party in
