What do I do about a client who won't pay for completed services?

I'm a Freelance videographer, and I'm dealing with a client who is basically, "holding my payment ransom". The client is holding my payment ransom so that I will pressure his marketing manager to give him something they had a deal about. To sum it up, my payment is being caught in the middle of a dispute being two people.

All my services have been completed and he has "the files" etc. He has had an invoice since December 30th (however the entire project was not completed until about 3 weeks ago).

I'm wondering if anyone knows what I can do. Suggestions to get the client to pay me.

tell him that you are going to post an ad in the local paper, start posting rants on your most local craigslist page, post about it on facebook, and start posting youtube videos about the COMPANY's not paying you. And send his manager the results.

the bad press should force his hand.

sorry you are facing this. i hope you signed a contract first.

good luck.

Did you have him sign a contract? This may not help now but in the future always have them sign a contract.
