InfusionSoft : Highly Recommended. Excellent web based CRM solution for small to medium companies seeking a comprehensive and reliable CRM tool.

SalesNexus : Highly Recommended. SalesNexus is like ACT! for the web. If you are an ACT! user but are tired of the buggy, resource hungry, newer ACT! version and would like an affordable, web based equivalent, SalesNexus is your answer.

InTouch CRM : Highly Recommended. InTouch CRM, finalists for the 2010 Software Satisfaction Awards, is a one-stop CRM and email marketing shop, with sexy functionality like Auto Responders, Web forms, SMS marketing, Surveys and more.

WORKetc : Highly Recommended. If your business requirements have a strong emphasis on Project Management and Billing (typically high-ticket, long & complex sales cycles), WORKetc is a top contender.

PlaybookIQ : Recommended. Formerly LeadsOnRails, PlaybookIQ is an exciting new, improved web based CRM software for sales teams who want to easily manage their contacts and implement their sales process.

Relenta : Highly recommended. A recent entrant to our Top 10 CRM list, Relenta successfully strikes the right balance between CRM and email marketing and is fast attracting a cult-like following.

If you are still in the market, I am a software developer by trade and have a web CRM application geared for small businesses. I developed the application alongside the primary customer (they love it) and I am now trying to market it to the masses. Why do I say tailored to the small business? Price (starting at $20/mo), and support (you deal with me directly). I have no overhead at all. I can set you up with access to the DEMO site where you can actually use the product and see what it can do.

You might take a look at MS CRM Online – you’ll be ready to monitor your contacts and hobbies quite simply. Another alternative is also MS Business Contact Manager, that's incorporated in a few models of MS Office.

I think it depends on your needs and above the level of service you expect. Functionally, the proprietary tools are generally more effective. In terms of implementing the open source is more nimble. Finally, in terms of after sales service (hotline, update, etc..) publishers reassert themselves.

The web Bsoco (www.bsoco.com) shows the customer satisfaction on several aspects, it's worth going to see it. This site has the advantage of mixing open source and proprietary solutions.

Good luck!
